Mueller Lab

Laboratory of Sex Chromosome Genetics

Our goal is to understand the function and evolution of complex genomic structures and their associated genes in the germline. In particular, we focus on the X and Y chromosomes: chromosomes that are enriched for complex genomic structures harboring recently evolved genes that are expressed during sperm and egg development. Via our studies, we aim to gain new fundamental understandings into the molecular basis of male infertility, genome evolution, and non-Mendelian inheritance. Our laboratory is located in the Department of Human Genetics at the University of Michigan.
